Health at Every Size

Hi, I’m Jade (she/her), a therapist who works with people who are BIPOC and/or 2SLGBTQIA+. I come from a proud Afro-Caribbean background, and am privileged to call Jamaica my home.

In my free time, I’m a home chef who sometimes knits, plays video games for too long in one sitting, and is deeply fascinated with the science of fermentation.

During therapy sessions, you can expect a mix of theoretical approaches, and I prioritize incorporating play and art whenever possible (yes, adults deserve to play too). If that means working on our crafts together or playing Mahjong or Minecraft during a session, then that’s what we get to do.

This is a space where you can show up as yourself and feel no need to mask any parts, perform some weird professionalism acrobatics, or bend to respectability politics.

my clients typically fall into the following populations:

  • immigrants + first gen Americans

  • current and former sex workers

  • survivors of sexual trauma, human trafficking, and intimate partner violence

  • formerly and recently incarcerated individuals

  • substance use (from a harm reduction lens)

  • monogamous and ethically non monogamous couples who are QTBIPOC

I utilize EMDR alongside talk therapy to help clients reprocess traumatic experiences, challenge deeply held and often survival based beliefs, and move toward a newer sense of equilibrium after various traumatic experiences. For couples, I love to center play, earnest conversations, and non violent communication.

My work centers on rebuilding self trust, reclaiming personal agency, and creating space for greater joy, connection, safety, and freedom. I am here to affirm & challenge all parts of you, through compassion, resistance, and community.

Costs

I am in network with the following insurance companies in Washington State. Some insurance plans do not cover couples therapy.

Self Pay, Cash Pay, or Out of Network

My self-pay/cash rate for individual therapy is $115 an hour. It is $155 an hour for couples/family therapy. It is $30 per group session.

If you are a Sex Worker, I partner with Pineapple Support who may pay a portion or all of your therapy fees.

If you are Black woman or Black Non-Binary person, I partner with The Loveland Foundation who may pay a portion or all of your therapy fees.

Additionally, I offer limited sliding scale spots for folks who may benefit. - As of 3.21.26 I do not have vacant sliding scale spots.

If you are out of network, some health insurance plans will reimburse you part or all of your cost if you submit a superbill. Reach out to your insurance to see if you qualify for out-of-network benefits.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance, or who choose not to use insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for services.
