About Me
Hi, I'm Jade (she/her), a therapist who works with people who are BIPOC and/or 2SLGBTQIA+. I come from a proud Afro-Caribbean background, and am privileged to call Jamaica my home.
This is a space where you can show up as yourself and feel no need to mask any parts, perform some weird professionalism acrobatics, or bend to respectability politics. My work centers on rebuilding self trust, reclaiming personal agency, and creating space for greater joy, connection, safety, and freedom. I am here to affirm and challenge all parts of you, through compassion, resistance, and community.
I work with immigrants and first generation Americans, current and former sex workers, survivors of sexual trauma, human trafficking, and intimate partner violence, formerly and recently incarcerated individuals, people navigating substance use from a harm reduction lens, and monogamous and ethically non-monogamous couples who are QTBIPOC.
During sessions, you can expect a mix of theoretical approaches, and I prioritize incorporating play and art whenever possible (yes, adults deserve to play too). If that means working on our crafts together or playing Baldurs Gate 3, Mahjong or Minecraft during a session, then that's what we get to do. For couples, I love to center play, earnest conversations, and non-violent communication.
In my free time, I'm a home chef who sometimes knits, camps, plays video games for too long in one sitting, and is deeply fascinated with the science of fermentation. I also have two cats named Charlie and Wilson (yes I like the Gap Band) who like to make appearances on camera.
