Contractor Role – Approved Supervisor for Associate Therapists

Who We’re Looking For

A seasoned mental‑health professional who holds an active Washington State license and meets the WAC 246‑809‑134 criteria for approved supervisors. You’ll mentor our associate therapists, keep meticulous supervision records, and guide them through the licensure journey—all while staying responsive and supportive.

What You’ll Do

  • Stay Credentialed – Keep your license, required CEUs, and any other qualifications current so you remain an approved state supervisor.

  • Supervise Regularly

    • Meet with first‑year associates at least twice a month.

    • Meet with second‑year (and beyond) associates at least once a month.

    • Document every session (date, length, topics, follow‑up actions).

  • Paperwork Organization– Fill out and turn in all necessary forms for your supervisee’s license application, ensuring everything is accurate and on time.

  • Be Accessible – Respond promptly to supervisees’ questions, concerns, or urgent requests for help.

  • Provide Guidance & Feedback – Offer constructive critiques, case consultations, and training to guarantee ethical, high‑quality client care.

  • Insurance Paneling – Already paneled with at least one insurer or have genuine interest in becoming paneled.

What You Need

  • An active Washington State professional license (LMFT, LICSW,  LPC, etc.) in good standing.

  • Official approval as a supervisor under WAC 246‑809‑134.

  • Several years of post‑licensure clinical experience (the exact number can be tailored to our needs).

  • Proven ability to keep thorough supervision logs and manage licensure paperwork.

  • Either current panel status with an insurance carrier or a solid strategy to obtain it.

  • Strong communication skills and a reputation for being approachable, reliable, and timely.

Ideal Traits

  • Passion for nurturing early‑career clinicians and promoting ethical practice.

  • Ability to juggle supervisory duties with your own caseload.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of regulatory changes.

Compensation & Arrangement

  • Independent contractor – compensation can be hourly, per supervision session, or a retainer—negotiable to suit both parties. You will set your own hours and rates.

  • Flexible scheduling to meet the required supervision frequencies.

  • As a contractor, you’ll handle your own taxes and benefits.
